THE BANDS

Well here we are again with an absolutely corking line up for all you Shires aff fish in are doe's. ( I am sure someone will tell me how spell it) This years line up has brought back some old favorites and some new and upcoming bands. Starting with Thursday, yes! Thursday we added the extra day so you ease your way into the weekend with a relaxing dose of Shires magic.

To begin we have a band called ADUST all the way from Birmingham the first of 3 bands over the weekend that could grace any stage at Download. Well thought about and executed metal. Can not wait to see them live.

The Headline band on Thursday is ANUBIS . They bring some thing a bit different, bringing prog rock up to date  with Egyptian feel, this should get all our air guitar players going nutz not that they need much more encouragement.                                                          

Friday starts with ICON  metal mayhem from Burnley should start the evening with a bang.                     

Followed by old favorites THE SWILLERS with their take on AC/DC and other rock classics.                      

The next band are probably The Shires favorite act              The Jalapenos rock'n'roll nuff said .                 

Next up is that happy bunch from Banbury another old favorite.  LEATHERAT so get out your dancing shoes with their own style of folk rock. I do hope they play that tune that mixes up folk, ska & jewish influences, Party time.                                                  

The headliner DR FEELGOOD . Some proper R'N'B. first saw this band in about 1975  and like a good wine they just keep getting better.

Saturday starts with new boys MUTHA HUMBUCKER they play a mix of old & new rock and if they are really nice       I will let them play some of their own stuff                                                        

Next is those pesky kids from Manchester                  COLOUR ME BLIND who opened the show in 2008 we thought we would bring them back to check they have not turned into Oasis.                                

 Then it's some bloke called STEVIE he plays a mandolin don't ya know. He's always sneaking on the stage and playing with other bands.                           

The next band on have been making a bit of a stir down south even my little niece had heard of these guys she's into the Metal scene and she is not so little,

Moving on the next band will be the winners of the Battle of the Bands competition, this is going on in the Marquee on the 2nd stage.                            .                                                                                  

From StokeTHE BLACK APPLES are on next with their own take on the Blues. A must listen to band.

At last years show (2009) we asked a band called HOLLYWOOD TEASE to open the Friday night and they blew us away with their energy so they are back as the Main support..Big Hair Rock                           

There then follows an interlude witch features BFG on the ones and twos so the main band can setup.

The headline act for our 10 th anniversary, if you have not figured it out yet are the                        LEVELLERS.
